Rethinking The Dog Bed
This goal of this project was to embody form language from an existing brand, use specific ecological approaches to design, and employ user-centered methodologies to create a product for a non-human user.
THE DOG BED X FLOYD
THE DOG BED was inspired by the from language of FLOYD, a furniture company whose focus is designing for disassembly.
Make It (Smell Like) You
Nest and side bolster sleeves are provided with each bed set to fill with your own old clothes, blankets, etc. The familiar scent makes your pet feel more comfortable and secure on a brand new bed. The “self-stuff” design also eliminates the need for polyester stuffing which is both harmful to the environment and your pal if ingested.
Customizable To
You Your Dog
The set comes with a main mattress, nest bolster, and side bolster. Choose which configuration best suites your dog’s preferred sleeping position.
Go Ahead, Take It Apart
The mattress and bolsters are secured with easy-twist FLOYD knob fasteners. These can be removed for adjustments and cleaning with no tools needed.
